What assistance are you expecting, exactly? If anything, planned HGs are a request for lack of assistance, as it means you'll be avoiding damage for a bit and the healers can worry about other things for 10 seconds.Īnnouncement macros are fine when there's a tangible benefit to using them and you don't jeopardize the group for it. ![]() Hallowed Ground activated! 10 seconds of invincibility! Requesting assistance! Sure, there are some minor benefits, but it's not worth failing to hit the action entirely. Same goes with provoke while there are instances where announcing it might be handy, in general you'll know when the provoke fails from the ensuing wipe (assuming a critical provoke). And when planned, you can just announce it earlier on. When used as a clutch, announcing it doesn't mean much, as the healers are probably already busy topping off anyway. The thing about HG is that you're either using it as a clutch, or planned.
